If 5lbs Actuator from HFP fails, what should you do?

Activate system from another station

Redundancy and alternate control paths are built into hydraulic systems so you can keep operating even if one actuator fails. When a 5-pound actuator in the hydraulic fluid power system fails, the proper move is to switch control to a different station and activate the system from there. This keeps the system functional, preserves control of the hydraulics, and allows continued damage-control actions while the fault is addressed. Trying to repair on the spot during an emergency isn’t always feasible, and resetting the actuator or retrying won’t fix a real failure and wastes valuable time. Ignoring the failure is unsafe because the system could be partially or completely inoperable.
